Premier League Clubs Penalized

Aston Villa was hit with a 22.5m euro (£19.4m) Uefa fine and Champions League squad registration limits for 2025 due to squad-cost rule breaches. This marks a rollover of a previous suspended penalty. Three other Premier League clubs—Chelsea, Nottingham Forest, and Newcastle United—also faced fines for similar violations. Newcastle received an additional 10m euros for a football earnings threshold overspend.
