Cup Shocks Kick Off!
Holders St Mirren launched their Premier Sports Cup defense with a 4-0 win over Dumbarton. The biggest upset, however, saw Lowland League champions Linlithgow Rose defeat Greenock Morton. Scottish Cup finalists Dunfermline Athletic were also humbled by East Kilbride. Dundee rallied to avoid a home defeat against Airdrieonians, while Falkirk dominated Edinburgh City.
