Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has revealed his post-retirement ambition to return to school and earn a university degree to prepare for the future and inspire others.
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen plans to return to school and earn a university degree after retiring from football, according to a report by The Guardian Nigeria.
The 2023 African Footballer of the Year shared his ambitions in a resurfaced online interview, noting that while football transformed his life, formal education remains an important personal milestone.
“I would love to go back to school and earn a degree,” Osimhen stated.
The Galatasaray forward explained that athletic careers are relatively short, making post-game preparation essential.
By pursuing higher education, he aims to inspire young people whose schooling was interrupted by financial difficulties, showing them that leaving school early due to life circumstances does not mean giving up on education forever.
