Morocco Hosts Expanded Tournament.
The delayed Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (Wafcon) 2026 is finally set to begin, with Morocco hosting for the third consecutive time. Originally scheduled for March 17 to April 3, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) postponed the event just 12 days prior. This year’s expanded 16-team tournament now kicks off on Sunday, July 26, culminating in the final on August 16. It also serves as a crucial qualifier for the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup, granting semi-finalists direct berths.
