CAS schedules October hearing over 2025 AFCON title dispute

The Court of Arbitration for Sport will hear Senegal’s appeal against CAF’s 2025 AFCON decision on October 8.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) has fixed October 8 for the hearing into the dispute over the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations title.

The case pits the Senegalese Football Federation against the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Royal Moroccan Football Federation following Senegal’s appeal against CAF’s ruling.

According to Jacobs Ben, the hearing will be held behind closed doors under CAS’s standard procedural timetable after all parties declined to fast-track the case.

Senegal is seeking to overturn CAF’s decision that declared the national team forfeited the 2025 AFCON, a ruling that resulted in Morocco being awarded the title. Once the hearing concludes, the CAS panel will begin its deliberations before delivering a final decision on the appeal.
