Paolo Maldini and Leonardo resign from Italy over Pirlo veto

VIA FABRIZIO ROMANO ON X:

Paolo Maldini and Leonardo have resigned as FIGC technical director and advisor just ten days after taking charge.

The pair walked away after federation president Malagò vetoed Andrea Pirlo’s appointment due to his Russian brand ties.

Refusing any other manager, Maldini and Leonardo immediately abandoned the project, throwing the national team back into total chaos.
