Matthias Jaissle is the surprising favorite to become Newcastle’s new head coach, following Eddie Howe’s impending departure after nearly five years. Howe, 48, guided the Magpies to their first domestic trophy in 70 years with the 2025 Carabao Cup. Jaissle, a former RB Salzburg boss and current Al-Ahli manager, boasts a strong record of success and is now expected to take over at St James’ Park.
