Infantino Caves: World Cup Stake Sale OFF!
Fifa President Gianni Infantino has canceled the contentious plan to sell stakes in the organization’s premier competitions, including the men’s and women’s World Cups. He admitted the project “created divisions” that were “no longer in the interest” of its objective. Infantino had offered $40m (£30m) to each of the 211 member associations if they supported the private investment proposal, but widespread opposition led to the swift retraction of the controversial scheme.
