Chelsea have increased their offer for Pep Chavarria as negotiations with Rayo Vallecano continue.
Chelsea have stepped up their pursuit of Rayo Vallecano left-back Pep Chavarria by increasing their offer from €15 million to €20 million, according to TeamTalk, via EPL Index.
The Blues are aiming to bridge the gap after the Spanish club valued the 28-year-old at €25 million.
The report adds that Chavarria has already agreed personal terms with Chelsea and is hopeful Rayo Vallecano will reach a compromise to complete the transfer. The defender has also missed the club’s pre-season friendlies as talks continue.
Chelsea remain confident a deal can be agreed as they look to strengthen the left-back position following Marc Cucurella’s departure.
Jorrel Hato and academy prospect Landon Emenalo are also part of Xabi Alonso’s defensive plans ahead of the new Premier League season.
