Aaron Ramsey joins Wales squad in unofficial coaching capacity

Wales captain Aaron Ramsey is unofficially joining the squad for their World Cup qualifiers, focusing on fitness and gaining coaching experience with Craig Bellamy’s staff, as he remains without a club after leaving Pumas.

According to a report from BBC, former Wales captain Aaron Ramsey has joined the national team camp in an unofficial capacity to aid Craig Bellamy’s staff as they prepare for World Cup qualifiers against Liechtenstein and North Macedonia.

Former Wales captain Aaron Ramsey will link up with the national team this month in an unofficial role as they prepare for their final World Cup qualifying double-header, according to a report from BBC.

The 34-year-old midfielder, currently without a club after leaving Mexican side Pumas, is at Wales’ training base in the Vale of Glamorgan to work on his fitness and assist with the coaching setup led by head coach Craig Bellamy.

Ramsey will not travel for the away match against Liechtenstein on Saturday but will be present during training sessions and team preparations ahead of the home game against North Macedonia next Tuesday.

Sources from the Football Association of Wales told BBC Sport Wales that Bellamy invited his former international teammate to gain coaching experience, aligning with Ramsey’s ambitions to move into management.

The former Arsenal and Juventus star recently completed his UEFA A Licence and has applied for the Pro Licence.

While injuries curtailed his playing stint in Mexico, Ramsey remains committed to Welsh football and is expected to contribute to the squad’s preparations as Wales aim to finish second in Group J and secure home advantage in next March’s play-offs.
