Amorim’s Plan: Reintegrating Man Utd’s Unwanted Quartet

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has revealed his plan to reintegrate the unwanted quartet of Alejandro Garnacho, Antony, Jadon Sancho, and Tyrell Malacia, should their summer moves fail to materialize. While he publicly stated Garnacho was unwanted, Amorim now claims he is “ready to receive the players” if they aren’t sold, emphasizing that it would create healthy competition within the squad.

Amorim’s willingness to reintegrate the players could be a negotiating tactic, or a genuine attempt to strengthen his squad. He is quoted as saying, “Some players have to move to make space in the team, others want a new challenge. We are giving them time to think and if they reach a point where they have to join the team they will. I am ready to receive the players. I have more options and if they have to fight each other to play that is perfect.”

Meanwhile, Amorim expressed his satisfaction with the new signings of Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Diego Leon. He highlighted Cunha’s versatility and experience as key assets, emphasizing the importance of having Premier League-proven players in his squad. He also praised the humility of the new arrivals and their conscious decision to join United despite other options.

Despite the new additions, United are still expected to sign an out-and-out centre-forward to address the unconvincing form of Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee. Amorim confirmed they are working to improve the connection between their current strikers rather than necessarily bringing in new additions to the position.
