Arne Slot defended Liverpool’s tactical consistency and squad depth while labeling Friday’s FA Cup tie against Wolves a “massive game” following their recent Premier League defeat at Molineux.
Liverpool head coach Arne Slot has dismissed concerns regarding his team’s tactical approach following a late 2-1 loss to Wolves on Tuesday.
Preparing for Friday’s FA Cup rematch, Slot emphasized that the “approach is not different” between early dominance and late-game urgency.
He noted, “It’s a real concern if you lose, and if you lose many times in the same manner it’s even more a concern.”
Addressing squad depth and recent struggles, Slot admitted long-term injuries have hampered the team’s consistency three days after fixtures.
Despite the setback, he remains focused on silverware, stating, “Tomorrow the FA Cup is on the line and that’s a massive game for us.”
Slot also defended the club’s transfer model, expressing satisfaction with summer signings while acknowledging that “some of them needed some time to adapt.”
