Arsenal are set to pay an additional £3.5 million for Viktor Gyokeres due to various performance-related triggers. The Gunners must pay €500,000 for every 20 goal contributions the striker achieves.
Having already paid €1.25 million for his first 20 appearances, sources indicate that “if Gyokeres continues playing and scoring, they will be happy to pay the money” given his massive impact.
The deal includes further payments linked to total appearances and Champions League qualification, with Sporting earning €1 million per European campaign.
If Gyokeres reaches 80 appearances of at least 45 minutes each, the full transfer value will be settled.
These escalating costs reflect the significant investment made by the Premier League leaders to secure the Swedish international’s prolific scoring form.
