Arsenal sign Quintero twins; what we know

Arsenal formally announced on Thursday that they had agreed the signing of Edwin and Holger Quintero, two promising 16-year-olds from Independiente del Valle.

The brothers travelled to London earlier this week to complete necessary paperwork, but per rules around international transfers of minors, they will only join the Gunners in August 2027 when they reach 18.

Sources told ESPN that Arsenal had been tracking the twins for “well over a year.”

Edwin is described as a rapid right winger known for his acceleration and dribbling, while Holger is regarded as an attacking midfielder with flair, creative vision, and technical ability — attributes that have drawn comparisons to elite forwards and playmakers such as Ousmane Dembélé and Neymar.

Though neither has yet featured for Independiente del Valle’s first team, both have progressed through the club’s youth ranks and competed at national and international youth tournaments — including a Chilean U-17 championship — which helped draw the attention of Arsenal scouts.

The deal is viewed as a coup for Arsenal’s academy recruitment strategy, taking advantage of a pathway to the first team that recent youth graduates like Myles Lewis‑Skelly, Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman have already begun to exploit.

While the transfer fee remains undisclosed, the early deal underscores Arsenal’s determination to lock down some of South America’s most highly rated teenage prospects before rival clubs make their move.
