Atalanta’s leadership has welcomed their Champions League draw against Bayern Munich, vowing to display the same resilience that saw them eliminate Borussia Dortmund in the previous round.
Atalanta general manager Umberto Marino has expressed immense pride as the Italian side prepares to face Bayern Munich in the Champions League Round of 16.
Following their dramatic comeback victory over Borussia Dortmund, the Bergamo-based club faces a formidable challenge against the German giants.
“We will face a great global football club like Bayern Munich with great pride in representing Italy,” Marino stated.
The executive emphasized that Atalanta must maintain their trademark aggression and courage to stand a chance in the knockout tie.
Despite the significant gulf in European pedigree, Marino insisted his side would compete with honor across three simultaneous competitions.
“We’ll have to play the match of our lives against Bayern Munich, but if they win, we’ll shake their hand,” he added regarding the upcoming fixture.
