Barcelona defeated Elche 3–1 at Montjuic, responding strongly to their El Clásico loss with goals from Lamine Yamal, Ferran Torres, and Marcus Rashford.
According to Sports Illustrated reporting, Barcelona returned to winning ways with a confident 3–1 victory over Elche in La Liga, bouncing back from their El Clásico defeat.
The Catalan giants started brightly at Montjuic, with Alejandro Balde setting up Lamine Yamal’s opener in the ninth minute — the young forward’s first open-play goal since August. Three minutes later, Fermín López drove down the left flank and delivered a precise cross for Ferran Torres to tap in, doubling the lead.
Elche briefly found hope before halftime when Rafa Mir capitalized on a counterattack to pull one back after Ronald Araújo failed to close him down. However, Marcus Rashford sealed the win in the second half with a stunning strike off the crossbar, marking his first home goal in Barça colors.
Fermín López, who assisted twice, was named Player of the Match. Frenkie de Jong impressed in midfield, while goalkeeper Wojciech Szczęsny made key saves to preserve the two-goal cushion.
The result lifted Barcelona to second place in La Liga, five points behind Real Madrid, ahead of their midweek Champions League clash with Club Brugge.
