Bayern Munich secured a 2-1 victory over PSG at Parc des Princes, marked by injuries to Ousmane Dembélé and Achraf Hakimi, and a red card for Luis Diaz, despite Joao Neves’ late goal for Paris.
Paris Saint-Germain sustained their first defeat of the Champions League season, falling 1-2 at the Parc des Princes to an unrelenting Bayern Munich side that extended their astonishing winning run.
According to PSG Post reporting, the heavyweight clash saw Bayern seize control early, striking within four minutes through Luis Diaz, who slotted home the rebound from an initial effort by Michael Olise.
Bayern Munich, who arrived having won 15 consecutive games, quickly capitalized on a disorganized PSG defense.
After an Ousmane Dembélé equalizer was chalked off for offside and the Frenchman was subsequently forced off with an injury, the German side doubled their lead.
Luis Diaz struck again in the 32nd minute, capitalizing after Marquinhos “gave the ball away in front of his box.”
The dynamic of the game changed dramatically just before halftime when Diaz received a straight red card following a VAR review for a nasty challenge on Achraf Hakimi, who was also forced to leave the pitch injured.
Substitute Joao Neves revived hope for Paris with a “splendid volley” in the 74th minute, reducing the deficit.
Despite increased dominance from the hosts against the ten-man side, Vincent Kompany’s Bayern held firm to claim their 16th straight victory.
