Manchester United striker Benjamin Šeško is sidelined until December with a knee injury, compounding a difficult start to his career after his summer move to Old Trafford.
According to a report from Sports Illustrated (SI), Manchester United striker Benjamin Šeško is expected to be sidelined until December due to a knee injury, though initial “grave fears” raised by coach Ruben Amorim have proven to be “a little overblown.”
The Slovenian international, who arrived at Old Trafford in the summer for €85 million (£74.9 million, $98.6 million), suffered the injury during the 2–2 draw at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Šeško, whose goal tally stands at a modest two from 12 appearances, now faces his first career knee problem. The timeline for recovery has been placed at between three and five weeks, according to The Athletic.
Based on this schedule, the striker should be available for selection at some point next month, potentially being in contention to feature against Bournemouth on Dec. 15.
His layoff could see him miss up to four matches due to the compressed festive calendar, including Premier League fixtures against Everton (Nov. 24), Crystal Palace (Nov. 30), West Ham (Dec. 4), and Wolves (Dec. 8).
The injury compounds what has been a patchy start to his Mancunian career, which Amorim acknowledged earlier this month, stating: “I understand how things are in football and he’s going to struggle. That is normal. He has no experience here.”
