Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba addressed transfer pressure from links to Manchester United, who are rumored to be preparing a January bid after the Seagulls reportedly lowered their valuation to £74.3 million.
Brighton and Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba has addressed the persistent speculation linking him with a transfer to Manchester United.
While the Cameroonian international was initially valued at a massive £100 million last summer, recent reports suggest Brighton has lowered their asking price to around £74.3 million for a potential January move.
Baleba admitted that the transfer claims had created significant pressure on him, impacting his form this season.
He told Sky Sports: “I don’t think it affected me negatively, but I had a lot of pressure on me.” He added, “Did I put too much pressure on myself? Yes, I think so, but I think it’s good.”
Despite his fluctuating form, United reportedly maintain interest in signing the midfielder as they look to bolster their central options.
It is also believed that Baleba himself would prefer a move to Old Trafford over reported interest from German giants Bayern Munich, who are also monitoring the situation
