Brighton & Hove Albion FC owner Tony Bloom is currently under scrutiny amid allegations he secretly placed bets on his own football teams. These claims are linked to a US legal case attempting to unmask an anonymous gambler behind $70 million in winnings. Bloom has denied the accusations, with a source close to him stating they are “entirely false.”
The controversy intensifies as Bloom also faces a separate UK lawsuit alleging he uses frontmen for a gambling syndicate. Several MPs, including Clive Efford, are now urging the Football Association to investigate Bloom, questioning a controversial exemption that permits him to gamble but prohibits wagers on his own clubs.
