Despite scoring a brace in Manchester United’s 4-1 victory over Wolves, captain Bruno Fernandes was slammed as “absolutely terrible” by former defender Paul Parker for his poor decisions and lack of on-field organization.
Manchester United secured a 4-1 victory over Wolves with goals from Bruno Fernandes (a brace), Mason Mount, and Bryan Mbeumo, according to a report from Football365.
Despite his contribution, former United defender Paul Parker insisted the captain was “absolutely terrible,” claiming Fernandes was “really poor in the first half” and gave the “ball away far, far too cheaply.”
Parker further criticized the Portuguese star’s on-field conduct, suggesting he lacks true leadership:
“Fernandes doesn’t do that, he doesn’t give you that. He’s an armband captain because he’s seen as United’s most important player.”
Parker concluded: “He looked absolutely terrible, but there you are,” while Spurs star James Maddison called Fernandes “underrated.”
