Bryan Robson joins Manchester United to mentor players on financial pitfalls

Manchester United has enlisted club legend Bryan Robson to mentor young players on managing wealth and avoiding the financial pitfalls that frequently target rising professional footballers.

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has invited “Captain Marvel” Bryan Robson to Carrington to educate the club’s academy prospects.

Robson, who made 461 appearances for the Red Devils, is sharing his personal experiences with failed investment schemes to help the next generation protect their earnings.

The initiative aims to provide vital financial literacy as young players sign their first professional contracts and become targets.

The 69-year-old former captain emphasized that many young athletes are vulnerable to opportunists and often feel too proud to seek help when things go wrong.

Highlighting the dangers of sudden wealth, Robson stated:

“The moment they sign that first professional contract, footballers become a target. They are a cash cow for hangers-on, con artists and opportunists. It’s evil.”
