Cameroon has dropped Andre Onana and Vincent Aboubakar for the Africa Cup of Nations, appointing David Pagou as coach following a World Cup qualification failure.
Cameroon have omitted goalkeeper André Onana from their squad for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations and appointed David Pagou as coach.
According to a report from TimesLIVE, Onana — currently on loan at Trabzonspor from Manchester United — is among several seasoned players excluded, including long-time striker Vincent Aboubakar.
The changes come after Cameroon failed to qualify for the 2026 World Cup.
The same report notes that Pagou replaces Belgian coach Marc Brys, with the decision coming shortly after the re-election of federation president Samuel Eto’o, who had long sought Brys’s removal.
The final squad — drawn ahead of the AFCON beginning December 21 — features players such as Manchester United winger Bryan Mbeumo and Brighton midfielder Carlos Baleba, while omitting other high-profile names.
