Casemiro, Estevão score as Brazil down senegal at emirates stadium

Brazil claimed a 2–0 victory over Senegal in an international friendly at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, with teenager Estevão and veteran Casemiro scoring first-half goals.

According to FRANCE 24, Brazil strengthened their pre-World Cup form on Saturday with a confident 2–0 victory over fellow World Cup qualifiers Senegal at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium. The South American giants, led by Carlo Ancelotti, fielded a dynamic attack featuring Estevão, Matheus Cunha, Rodrygo and Vinícius Júnior, and were on the front foot from kickoff.

Brazil nearly opened the scoring early when Manchester United forward Matheus Cunha headed against the crossbar, but their dominance paid off in the 28th minute. Chelsea’s 18-year-old forward Estevão reacted quickest when the ball broke loose on the right side of the Senegalese box, finishing with a precise low shot across goalkeeper Edouard Mendy. The goal was his fourth in 10 appearances for Brazil, further solidifying his rising status ahead of the 2026 World Cup.

Captain Casemiro doubled Brazil’s lead seven minutes later. The 33- Year-old midfielder expertly controlled a Rodrygo free-kick at the back post before curling a superb effort into the top corner, leaving Mendy with no chance.

Senegal came close to reducing the deficit early in the second half when Iliman Ndiaye capitalised on an error by goalkeeper Ederson but struck the outside of the post. Star forward Sadio Mané, unable to influence the match, was substituted in the 75th minute.

Brazil, five-time world champions, will head to North America next year after finishing fifth in South American qualifying, while Senegal sealed their place after defeating Mauritania last month.
