Chelsea in contract talks with Caicedo amid Madrid interest

Chelsea have opened discussions to hand star midfielder Moises Caicedo a more lucrative contract, according to GIVEMESPORT sources, despite the player still having nearly six years remaining on his current deal.

The move is a bid by the Stamford Bridge hierarchy to “reward” the fan favorite and solidify his commitment amid reported interest from La Liga giants Real Madrid.

Caicedo, who arrived in a British record £115 million deal in August 2023, is reportedly a crucial player that head coach Enzo Maresca is determined to keep.

While the new agreement may not add time to the existing contract, which runs with an option until 2030, the club is eager to provide him with “improved terms to reflect his importance.”

Sources close to the player indicate that the Ecuadorian international is “not looking to leave Chelsea,” even as he navigates a recent change in representation to his family.

The Blues are reportedly firm that they “will not listen to offers” for the 23-year-old, who helped the club secure the UEFA Conference League last season.
