Chelsea manager Liam Rosenior is optimistic about welcoming back key attackers Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens for the upcoming Premier League clash against Newcastle following their Champions League defeat in Paris.
Chelsea could receive a significant double fitness boost ahead of Saturday’s meeting with Newcastle United.
Wingers Estevao Willian and Jamie Gittens are both nearing returns after recent layoffs. Estevao has missed five games with a hamstring issue, while Gittens has responded well to recent scans.
“Estevao is back on the pitch, but he is not quite ready for this one,” Rosenior noted earlier this week.
Long-term absentee Levi Colwill remains on the road to recovery after undergoing ACL surgery last August.
While the defender is progressing well, the club is maintaining a cautious approach regarding his reintegration into the first team.
Rosenior emphasized the need for patience with the academy graduate, stating, “Levi is doing really, really well with his long-term rehab,” as he targets a potential return late this season.
