FC Barcelona’s highly anticipated return to the renovated Spotify Camp Nou for the match against Athletic Club is being overshadowed by ticket prices starting at €199 and reaching an eye-watering €589.
According to a report from SPORT, FC Barcelona fans face “exorbitant” ticket prices for the team’s long-awaited return to the renovated Spotify Camp Nou this weekend against Athletic Club.
After receiving necessary permits from the City Council and La Liga, the club confirmed the match will be played at the iconic stadium, operating initially with a total capacity of just over 45,000.
However, the excitement is tempered by the high cost of entry, as ticket prices have surged well beyond the levels seen at Montjuic.
The cheapest available option for the homecoming starts at €199, covering areas such as the South Goal (upper second tier) and various corner sections. Prices escalate rapidly across the stadium.
Second-tier, first-tier, and lateral sections range from €209 to €355, while central and tribune locations move closer to the €400 mark..
The highest category costs an eye-watering €589 for central first-tier seating. Even with a 20% discount for season-ticket holders, the cost remains “particularly steep for a regular league match.”
The move is expected to deliver a major economic lift for the club. The club will benefit from the immediate increase in matchday revenue and will also avoid the substantial rent previously paid for Montjuic, which ranged from €300,000 to €900,000 per match.
Furthermore, Phase 1C construction is set to expand the capacity in approximately one month to 62,500, further exceeding the capacity limit of Montjuic by 12,500 seats and significantly boosting future earnings.
