Cormack proposes VAR time limit in Scottish football

Aberdeen chairman Dave Cormack has proposed a 60-second time limit for VAR checks in Scottish football, arguing that longer reviews diminish the fan experience. He asserts that if a decision isn’t clear and obvious within a minute, the on-field call should stand. Cormack also suggested suspending VAR if inconsistencies persist.

Other Premiership managers echo Cormack’s concerns. Livingston’s David Martindale believes VAR should be removed, stating, “I would take VAR out of the game today.” St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson has also been a vocal critic of the system’s current form.
