Daily Star has dismissed viral social media claims that sacked Nottingham Forest boss Ange Postecoglou and club owner Evangelos Marinakis were involved in a post-match fight.
Daily Star has rubbished social media rumours suggesting that former Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou and club owner Evangelos Marinakis engaged in a physical altercation following the team’s 3-0 loss to Chelsea.
Speculation arose after a viral post on X claimed the pair had a heated confrontation in the tunnel, leading to a “fist fight” that left both men with visible marks. The post, viewed over 1.6 million times, alleged Marinakis fired Postecoglou during the exchange.
However, Daily Star Sport confirmed the story was “utter nonsense.” The report clarified that Marinakis had left the stadium around the hour mark, well before the match ended, and that Postecoglou was informed of his dismissal afterward.
Postecoglou’s 39-day tenure now stands as the shortest in Premier League history for a permanent manager, ending after just five games in charge.
