Player ratings: De Ligt 7, and Lammens 8, deliver in thrilling draw at Spurs

Manchester United dramatically salvaged a 2-2 draw at Tottenham, with Bryan Mbeumo’s early goal and a late Matthijs de Ligt header securing a point after Spurs’ Mathys Tel and Richarlison had briefly turned the game.

The Red Devils secured a dramatic 2-2 draw against Tottenham, extending their unbeaten run thanks to a late equalizer. Here are the individual player evaluations:

Man United Player Ratings

Senne Lammens – 8

Despite an early mistake, the Dutch goalkeeper was instrumental in the second half, producing brilliant reflex stops to deny both Sergio Romero and Joao Palhinha. He was completely absolved of blame for the two goals Tottenham scored.

Matthijs de Ligt – 7

The centre-back defended his area capably for the majority of the contest. However, he was unlucky to be caught out by Mathys Tel, whose shot deflected off him into the net. He instantly rectified his mistake by leaping highest to power home a header in the 96th minute, salvaging a point for the team.

Harry Maguire – 7

The defender provided a reliable presence on his return to the lineup but was forced to leave the pitch prematurely due to a hamstring issue, hobbling off with 18 minutes remaining in the match.

Luke Shaw – 6

He was fortunate to be bailed out by Lammens after allowing Romero a clear run on goal. Nonetheless, it was a generally solid showing from the full-back, and he deserves credit for helping to create the crucial space that allowed De Ligt to connect with the corner-kick winner.

Noussair Mazraoui – 6

The full-back put in a decent 58-minute shift on his return to the initial starting line-up before being substituted off.

Casemiro – 7

The Brazilian anchored the midfield with authority once again, setting an example for his teammates. He frequently broke up play and disrupted the opposition’s momentum before his eventual replacement.

Bruno Fernandes – 5

His aggressive pressing helped reclaim the ball in the build-up to the first goal, but overall, his performance fell short of his usual high standards, as he was repeatedly dispossessed. He also wasted a prime opportunity to make the score 2-0 by shooting high over the crossbar. He did, however, register an assist for the final corner delivery.

Patrick Dorgu – 6

He handled the challenge posed by Brennan Johnson well on the defensive end. Despite his steady defensive work, he must demonstrate more quality and decisiveness in his final ball when joining the attack.

Amad Diallo – 7

Playing effectively outside of a right wing-back role, he delivered a pinpoint, lofted cross for Mbeumo’s opening goal and displayed some excellent passing. While he might have reacted quicker to prevent the cross for Tottenham’s equalizer, he was still one of the most effective players for the team.

Matheus Cunha – 5

Starting centrally in place of Benjamin Sesko, the forward struggled immensely. He habitually held onto the ball for excessive periods and conceded possession far too often, leading to a frustrating outing.

Bryan Mbeumo – 7

Though deployed on the left wing, away from his natural position, he netted his sixth goal for the club with a perfectly controlled header. He contributed several intelligent touches and provided valuable offensive input, proving his quality as a footballer.
