Di Vaio recognizes Bologna’s historic opportunity, hails Italiano’s courage

Bologna sporting director Marco Di Vaio has expressed strong support for manager Vincenzo Italiano, praising his tactical bravery and the club’s current direction.

Bologna sporting director Marco Di Vaio has publicly lauded head coach Vincenzo Italiano for the “courage” shown during the club’s transitional period.

Following the departure of Thiago Motta, Italiano was tasked with maintaining the Rossoblù’s competitive edge while competing in the Champions League.

Di Vaio emphasized that the coach’s willingness to implement a proactive style of play has been fundamental in keeping the squad motivated despite the heavy fixture list.

The director highlighted the importance of stability and the club’s long-term project during a recent media briefing.

He noted that the integration of new summer signings has required patience, but the internal belief in Italiano remains unshaken.

“He has shown great courage in taking on this challenge and changing the way we play,” Di Vaio stated, reinforcing that the club values the progressive tactical identity being established at the Stadio Renato Dall’Ara.

Looking ahead to the winter transfer window, Di Vaio suggested that Bologna will remain vigilant for opportunities to improve the roster.

However, the primary focus remains on domestic recovery and consistency in Serie A.

The director expressed confidence that the team’s recent performances indicate an upward trajectory, concluding that the synergy between the management and the technical staff is “stronger than ever” as they pursue a top-half finish.
