Borussia Dortmund is set to make a strong push to bring Jadon Sancho back to the club for a third stint, according to sporting director Sebastian Kehl. Constant links between the player and the club have fueled speculation, and now Dortmund is ready to act.
Sancho, 25, initially made a high-profile move to Manchester United from Dortmund in July 2021. However, the English international has struggled to find his footing at Old Trafford under both Erik ten Hag and his successor, Ruben Amorim. A public falling out with Ten Hag during the 2023-24 season resulted in a loan move back to Dortmund in January 2024. Following his return to Manchester, Sancho was again loaned out, this time to Chelsea, where he clinched the Conference League title.
With Sancho seeking an exit from Manchester United, several European clubs have shown interest in acquiring the winger during this transfer window. While a potential move to Juventus appears to have stalled, speculation has resurfaced regarding a return to Dortmund, where Sancho previously made 158 appearances.
Reports indicate that Sancho is prepared to take a pay cut to facilitate a move back to the Bundesliga. Sebastian Kehl has confirmed ongoing discussions within the Dortmund hierarchy to assess the feasibility of the transfer.
Kehl acknowledged the widespread interest, stating, "[Jadon] is constantly being linked with us. I understand the desire. We're thinking about it within our possibilities. The conditions have to be right. We will definitely do something, but we're limited."
During his previous spells with Dortmund, Sancho has been a key player, amassing 53 goals and 59 assists. His impact was evident even during his brief loan stint, where he created the fifth-most chances (34) and led the team in attempted (126) and completed (62) dribbles.
