Eberechi Eze insists his £60 million price tag is no burden, calling his move to Arsenal a dream come true after rejoining his boyhood club from Crystal Palace.
Arsenal star Eberechi Eze said he was “never worried” that his £67.5 million move to Arsenal would fall through.
According to a report from Yahoo Sports, England midfielder Eberechi Eze has expressed confidence and calm amid his high-value transfer to Arsenal, insisting he was “never worried” his move would not happen.
He joined the Gunners in a deal reportedly worth up to £67.5 million following lengthy transfer speculation.
Eze reflected on the whirlwind nature of his return to his boyhood club, saying: “There’s a lot going on, it’s fun for me. … These are opportunities that you want.”
He admitted that although the transfer drama played out quickly, he was mentally prepared: “I was just there, looking at the crowd … and it was a cool moment – more for my family, seeing what it meant to them.”
He also talked up his motivation to immediately make an impact for Arsenal: “For me, now, I’m just excited to play, … to work hard, apply myself and get to doing what I do. … There’s been a lot of noise off the pitch but I just want to get down.
Eze’s remarks come in the wake of Arsenal confirming the deal, with the club reportedly paying £60 million up front, plus £7.5m in add-ons.
His signing represents a major coup for the Gunners, who beat rivals Tottenham to his signature.
