The Carabao Cup semi-final draw has paired holders Newcastle United with Manchester City, while Chelsea will face the winner of the delayed quarter-final between Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
Reigning champions Newcastle United have been drawn against Manchester City in the semi-finals of the 2025/26 Carabao Cup.
The Magpies secured their spot in the final four following a dramatic 2-1 quarter-final victory over Fulham, where local teenager Lewis Miley netted a stoppage-time winner.
They now face a formidable two-legged tie against Pep Guardiola’s side, who reached the stage by comfortably defeating Brentford 2-0.
The second semi-final pairing will see Chelsea face either Arsenal or Crystal Palace, with the identity of their opponent yet to be decided.
The quarter-final clash at the Emirates Stadium was rescheduled to December 23 due to Palace’s European commitments, leaving Mikel Arteta’s Gunners to face the FA Cup holders for the final spot.
Chelsea advanced earlier in the week after overcoming League One leaders Cardiff City 3-1 in South Wales.
The first-leg fixtures are scheduled for the week commencing January 12, 2026, with the return legs following on the week beginning February 2.
Reflecting on the logistical challenges of the rearranged quarter-final, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta noted, “I don’t think that is fair… we have other competitions as well,” though he acknowledged the need to accommodate the schedule.
The winners will meet in the final at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, March 22.
