Erling Haaland’s agent has denied any contact with Barcelona regarding a “first refusal” transfer clause, emphasizing the striker’s commitment to Manchester City despite a recent slump in scoring form.
Rafaela Pimenta has dismissed reports linking Erling Haaland with a move to Barcelona, asserting that her client remains “very happy” at Manchester City.
While speculation suggested the Catalan giants were seeking a priority negotiation agreement, Pimenta clarified that there has been no contact between the parties.
“Everything is going very well for him and we really have nothing to discuss about a transfer when everything is so good at City,” she stated on La Sexta.
Despite the off-field stability, Haaland is currently enduring a significant statistical dip, managing only two goals from open play in his last 17 appearances.
This uncharacteristic drought coincides with a high-stakes title race where City currently sit second, trailing leaders Arsenal by seven points with a game in hand.
If the 25-year-old Norwegian cannot rediscover his clinical edge, questions may arise regarding City’s ability to overtake an Arsenal side that has become the league’s dominant force.
