Estupiñán fires Milan past Inter to cut Serie A lead to seven points

Pervis Estupinan’s first-half strike secured Milan a derby victory over Inter, trimming the Serie A leaders’ advantage to seven points with ten games remaining.

MILAN — Pervis Estupinan’s powerful first-half strike earned Milan bragging rights in the Derby della Madonnina on Saturday, cutting Inter’s Serie A lead to seven points with ten games remaining. The Ecuadorian full-back converted Youssouf Fofana’s pinpoint delivery 10 minutes before halftime, handing Milan their second league derby victory this season.

Inter had entered the match 10 points clear at the summit, seemingly cruising toward the title. However, Henrikh Mkhitaryan squandered a golden chance to open the scoring moments before Estupinan’s decisive strike, racing through on goal only to fire straight at the goalkeeper.

Federico Dimarco missed a second-half sitter for Inter, driving over from close range as the visitors piled on late pressure. The defeat ended Inter’s eight-match winning streak, marking their first loss since November—ironically, their previous defeat also came against Milan.
