Ex-Rangers striker Kemar Roofe signs for Walsall

Former Rangers forward Kemar Roofe has joined English League Two side Walsall on a short-term contract.

According to a report from RANGERS REVIEW, the 32-year-old joins the English League Two club after leaving Ibrox, where he made 102 appearances across a four-year spell and won the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and Scottish League Cup.

Roofe expressed excitement about joining the Saddlers, describing the move as a personal milestone. “I’m really happy to have signed for Walsall,” he said, noting the significance of returning to his hometown club. He added that the staff and players had made him feel welcome, saying he “just can’t wait to get stuck in and help the team and the club achieve its goals.”

The forward reflected on his early footballing memories at the club, recalling halftime penalty shootouts at the Pallet-Track Bescot Stadium. “My football journey probably started at Walsall when I was five… to be able to remember that moment and kind of do a full circle is amazing,” he said, hoping to “score some goals for the Saddlers.”

Roofe also revealed that discussions with the Walsall manager boosted his confidence. “He’s told me to bring what I usually do with my quality and experience and help the team push forward,” Roofe said, adding he is “excited to see what the future brings.”
