Eberechi Eze’s first-half strike gave Arsenal a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at the Emirates on Sunday, sending the Gunners four points clear at the top of the Premier League.
The England international, once a Palace star, scored his first goal of the season after latching onto a loose ball from Declan Rice’s free-kick, beating Dean Henderson with a composed finish.
Arsenal weren’t dominant but held firm despite a late Palace rally. The win came as title rivals Manchester City and Liverpool dropped points over the weekend, giving Mikel Arteta’s side a crucial edge in the title race.
Arteta’s substitutions helped secure the result, while Eze earned a standing ovation before being subbed off late in the game.
