Injury update: Arsenal duo poised for UCL return against Bayern

Arsenal secured a dominant 4-1 North London Derby victory over Tottenham, fueled by Eberechi Eze’s hat-trick, moving six points clear at the top as several key players eye returns ahead of critical clashes against Bayern Munich and Chelsea.

Arsenal is hoping to welcome back two key players for their Champions League clash against Bayern Munich on Tuesday, November 26, according to a report from London World.

The injury optimism follows the Gunners’ decisive 4-1 victory over local rivals Tottenham Hotspur, a result that puts them six points clear atop the Premier League table, with Eberechi Eze scoring a hat-trick.

Striker Viktor Gyokeres has been sidelined since suffering a hamstring injury before the international break but was “very close” to being ready to face Spurs.

Similarly, captain Martin Odegaard was close to contention for the North London Derby but has not played since early October after sustaining an MCL injury.

Manager Mikel Arteta will hope to see both players return to action when Harry Kane and co. visit the Emirates.

However, the injury situation remains complex for the league leaders as they head into a defining week, which also includes a clash against Chelsea on November 30.

Defender Gabriel faces a more worrying prognosis after picking up a thigh injury while on international duty with Brazil. He is expected to spend a number of weeks on the sidelines, with “fears he could be out until January.”

Furthermore, forward Kai Havertz, who has been out since August, may find the midweek fixture comes “too soon for him,” though he could aim to be back for the subsequent match against his former club, Chelsea.

Meanwhile, Gabriel Jesus, who has been recovering from a ruptured ACL since January 2025, is back in training but will be “eased back into action,” with his return to the first-team squad expected in early December.

The club did confirm that Noni Madueke and Gabriel Martinelli were available for the recent derby, while Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber were fit to start.
