Fernandes sought Ronaldo’s counsel before rejecting Al-Hilal offer

Bruno Fernandes turned down a £100m offer from Al-Hilal after seeking advice from Cristiano Ronaldo, insisting he wants to achieve his dreams with Manchester United.

According to Mirror, Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes sought advice from Cristiano Ronaldo before rejecting a £100million offer from Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal in the summer transfer window.

Fernandes’ future was under speculation after he admitted he would stay at Old Trafford only if the club still valued him. “I feel the club wants me to be part of the future, so as I said, I don’t want to be a player the club doesn’t want to have,” he said at the time.

Al-Hilal reportedly offered to make the Portuguese midfielder one of the highest-paid players in world football. Before making his decision, Fernandes spoke with Ronaldo, who currently plays for Al Nassr. “I spoke with Cristiano about the situation, about Saudi and everything,” Fernandes said. “I wouldn’t say what he told me, but we spoke about it… it was important for me to hear what he thought.”

Ultimately, Fernandes decided to remain at Manchester United, saying he was “not eager to move” and wanted to “achieve my dreams still” with the club.

The 31-year-old confirmed he will not discuss any transfer offers until after the World Cup. “As I’ve always said, I feel good here… because until then, I won’t speak to anyone,” he added.
