Steve Bruce has compared Manchester United boss Ruben Amorim to Mikel Arteta for his bold squad decisions and steady turnaround at Old Trafford.
Former Manchester United captain Steve Bruce has likened Ruben Amorim to Arsenal’s Mikel Arteta, praising the Portuguese for his “big calls” that have sparked a revival at Old Trafford.
Speaking on talkSPORT, Bruce said: “He’s had a great few weeks, they’ve won five out of the last seven… he’s made a big call in the dressing room to get rid of big players, with big reputations.” Amorim’s decision to offload Marcus Rashford, Andre Onana and Antony has drawn comparisons to Arteta’s early overhaul at Arsenal.
Bruce added, “It reminds me a little bit of Arsenal… where people are looking from afar thinking, ‘wow, that’s a big call.’” United co-owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe has also backed Amorim, saying he will give him “three years” to prove himself as United’s long-term manager.
