Manchester United legends Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt have furiously urged young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo to leave the club due to what they view as disrespectful treatment and a lack of game time under manager Ruben Amorim.
Manchester United legends Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt have strongly criticized manager Ruben Amorim for sidelining young midfielder Kobbie Mainoo.
Mainoo, who has played just 183 Premier League minutes this season, has yet to start a game under Amorim. Scholes, visibly frustrated, said: “I don’t know why the club are letting Amorim treat a homegrown talent like that.”
Butt echoed the fury, calling Mainoo’s situation “an absolute joke.”
Butt fears Mainoo will “be another homegrown player who leaves and is a superstar somewhere elsewhere,” noting that Amorim is “f****** up” a “top, top, top player.”
Butt concluded that if he were advising the 20-year-old, he would be “telling him ‘we’re getting you out of that football club’.”
