Former Super Eagles head coach Gernot Rohr is facing renewed scrutiny following “disturbing” allegations regarding his conduct during the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

French journalist Romain Molina recently published a report detailing an incident in Gabon where Rohr was working as a beIN Sports pundit.

The 71-year-old German tactician, who remains Nigeria’s longest-serving manager, is accused of hosting young girls in his room under suspicious circumstances during the tournament.

According to the investigation, a priest managing Rohr’s accommodation reported seeing the coach “wearing only white briefs” while bringing “two very young girls” into his room.

Molina claims that when confronted by beIN Sports management, Rohr’s explanations shifted multiple times, suggesting the girls were “thirsty” or there for an “autograph” before claiming he “knew” them.

The broadcaster reportedly ended Rohr’s involvement in their coverage and withdrew his accreditation immediately following the report.

While the incident allegedly occurred nearly a decade ago, it was buried at the time due to a “culture of silence.”

Molina emphasizes that from a legal perspective, “nothing ever happened” as no official charges were filed.
