Postecoglou insists patience will pay off as he defends his winless start at Nottingham Forest.
Nottingham Forest manager Ange Postecoglou has urged patience from fans, saying his struggling team will eventually “end with a trophy.” The Australian, who replaced Nuno Espirito Santo in September, has yet to record a win in seven matches, with Forest slipping to 17th in the Premier League.
Postecoglou dismissed claims that he is a “failed manager,” recalling his achievements at Tottenham Hotspur where he won the Europa League. “Maybe I’m a manager that if you give me time, the story ends the same — at all my previous clubs — with a trophy,” he said.
He admitted the team’s inconsistency but maintained faith in his players’ adaptation. “I am trying to change the way we play. The players are adapting but there’s been inconsistency in there for sure.”
The 59-year-old accepted the pressure surrounding his job but remained defiant ahead of Saturday’s clash with Chelsea. “Pressure is part of managing at this level,” he said.
