Guardiola to invite Ferguson and Wenger to dinner after breaking Premier League record

Pep Guardiola became the fastest manager to reach 250 Premier League wins and says Manchester City are back in the title race.

Pep Guardiola has become the fastest manager to reach 250 Premier League wins, achieving the feat in 349 games after Manchester City’s victory over Brentford. The milestone surpasses Arsene Wenger’s 423 and Sir Alex Ferguson’s 404. “It’s an honour for me to be alongside Sir Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger, so I will invite them to a good dinner,” Guardiola said. “We did it quicker, faster, better, and I’m really pleased. Now, let’s go for 250 more.”

The City boss hailed Erling Haaland as “the best” striker and believes the champions are “back in the title race.” He added: “Liverpool is an incredible team, like Arsenal, but we are getting better and better.”

Meanwhile, Guardiola confirmed Rodri will be out for two to three weeks with a hamstring injury. Brentford manager Keith Andrews said, “We made it very uncomfortable for them at the end. They are one of the best teams in the world.”
