Erling Haaland says becoming a father has helped him find balance and perform at his best, as he continues his stunning scoring run for Manchester City.
Manchester City striker Erling Haaland says becoming a father has transformed his mindset and inspired his blistering start to the new season. The Norwegian scored the only goal in City’s 1–0 win over Brentford on Sunday, taking his tally to nine goals in seven Premier League matches and 12 across all competitions.
Speaking after the match, Haaland told Sky Sports: “You can say so, I’ve never felt better than I do now. To be honest with a kid I think it makes me even better because I actually disconnect more than ever.” He added, “Now when I go home I relax even more so I think I need to give a shout out to my son.”
Pep Guardiola praised Haaland’s form, saying, “He’s been so important for us this season… the wingers have to score more goals.” Haaland now has 136 goals in 155 appearances since joining City in 2022.
