Achraf Hakimi has been named the 2025 CAF Player of the Year, beating Victor Osimhen and Mohamed Salah to the award after a trophy-filled season with PSG.
Achraf Hakimi has been crowned the 2025 CAF Player of the Year after edging out Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah, according to a report from DAILY POST NIGERIA.
The 27-year-old defender, who previously finished second for two straight years, earned the top honour following a standout campaign in which he helped Paris Saint-Germain win Ligue 1, the French Cup, and their first-ever UEFA Champions League title.
Hakimi, who succeeds Nigeria’s Ademola Lookman as Africa’s best player, arrived at the ceremony with his foot heavily strapped due to injury.
