Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri faces a four-match ban and a £15,000 fine for spitting at Leeds United fans in October. Mejbri, 22, admitted the misconduct charge from the Football Association following the incident during Burnley’s 2-0 win on 18 October, after a complaint from a Leeds supporter.
The Tunisia international will miss four league games against Newcastle, Fulham, Bournemouth, and Everton. He is set to return for Burnley’s home match against Newcastle United on 30 December. This ban impacts Burnley, currently 19th in the Premier League after five consecutive losses.
