Turkish legend Hasan Şaş has warned Galatasaray to play with courage rather than defensive fear as they look to protect a 1-0 lead against Liverpool in their Champions League return leg.
Turkish icon Hasan Şaş has praised Victor Osimhen’s relentless work rate following Galatasaray’s 1-0 victory over Liverpool.
Osimhen provided the crucial assist for Mario Lemina, securing a historic second win over the English giants this season.
Şaş highlighted Osimhen’s late-game tenacity against Ibrahima Konate, stating, “We can’t say enough good things about him. I think he’s more than repaying the fans’ love.”
Despite the advantage, Şaş warned the Turkish champions against a defensive mindset at Anfield.
He insisted that the team must engage in a physical, back-and-forth contest to succeed. “In that match, Galatasaray shouldn’t be playing a game focused on protecting a 1-0 lead,” Şaş noted, adding,
“We can’t finish the match there by waiting, being nervous, and thinking, ‘When are we going to concede a goal?’”
