Insider reports deny that Barcelona is interested in Hoffenheim’s in-form striker Fisnik Asllani, who was being considered as a low-cost replacement for Robert Lewandowski, leaving the Catalan club to focus on other high-profile or low-budget targets.
Barcelona is planning to sign a new number nine next summer as Robert Lewandowski’s replacement, but an insider has poured cold water on links to Bundesliga forward Fisnik Asllani.
German reporter Christian Falk stated, “I can say it’s not true that Barcelona are interested in Fisnik Asllani,” dismissing recent Spanish rumors.
Asllani, 23, has registered six goals and three assists for Hoffenheim this season, also attracting interest from Bayern Munich.
While Asllani would have been a low-cost option, potentially fitting the club’s financial strategy, a similar target, Karl Etta-Eyong, offers La Liga experience.
Barcelona ideally seeks a big name like Julian Alvarez or Harry Kane, but their financial issues may force them toward cheaper targets. The final decision on Lewandowski’s successor will be made later this season.
